From the best-selling author of Kingdom Man and Kingdom Woman, Raising Kingdom Kids equips parents to raise their children with a Kingdom perspective and also offers practical how-to advice on providing spiritual training as instructed in Scripture.
Dr. Tony Evans begins with an overarching look at the need for Kingdom parenting, our roles and responsibilities in raising God-following children, and how to prepare children to take on the assignments God has for their lives. He then takes a practical turn, with examples and illustrations to help parents understand and provide specific training for kids in the power of prayer, wisdom, loving God’s Word, getting through trials, controlling their tongues, developing patience, the surrender of service, and much more.
This book is for every dad or mom who want to fulfill the parenting role God has given them—not just in raising healthy kids intellectually, physically, and socially, but in contributing to their child’s relationship with God and alignment under His plan.

I love this book. It's so much more than your usual parenting book. It's practical and step-by-step, but also inspirational, thorough and encouraging. Dr. Evans offers perspective on "creating an atmosphere where your kids can maintain their identity in Jesus Christ despite the culture around them." I love that. So many people thing Christians "shelter" their kids. I'm more of the perspective of EQUIPPING my son and giving him age appropriate protection. This book is helping me connect and grow confidence as a parent with God. It's more about influencing my son than controlling him, which I think is the difference between sheltering and equipping. Preparing our kids and giving them the foundation they need starts with us, parents! So affirming is one of my favorite quotes from the book, "Instructing your children in the Lord means spending time with them so they can see how you live out the gospel." I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK for all parents.

I was drawn to this book because of the excellent reputation of Dr. Tony Evans. I am also aware of the fact that his four children are currently serving in the kingdom, and as a parent of one, I wanted to learn from his experience of raising four kids to bring glory to God. It is my ultimate desire that my daughter would grow to fulfill her purpose and God-given potential and remain in Christ while living in an ever-increasing challenging culture.
One of the first things, I realized from his open sharing about his family life, is that you don't have to be perfect to get it right. In fact, God's strength is what shows up during our weaknesses, and his family today is a product of God's strength. But God's strength was given access in their lives because they intentionally sought to instill the values, adopt practices that would give him the room to work in their lives. I am inspired by this book. I would highly recommend it. I think its suitable for early parents like myself and there is encouragement for parents of older kids, blended families, single families. It doesn't matter what stage or type of family we have, it seems that the most important factor is involving God.

This is a wonderful book for parents trying to raise their kids with God by their side. It's not easy being a parent but this puts a new perspective on things and outlines areas for you to be a better parent for God. Highly recommend.
