The Triumphant Trip to Glory – CD Series

The good news of being a Christian includes the promise that one day, we will spend eternity with Jesus Christ in heaven. But getting there is not supposed to be a passive act. God greatly desires His children to prepare for the life that is to come. With His divine nature installed within us, God wants us to experience the greatness of heaven on earth and to enter into His kingdom abundantly.

Preparation for Glory (2 Peter 1:1-11) - Every time you go on vacation, the quality of the trip will be largely determined by how well you prepared for it in advance. That’s similar to our journey toward heaven. How we live life on earth will affect our arrival in glory.

Passion for Your Journey (2 Peter 1:1-11) - God has planted a seed of divine nature inside every believer. In order for that seed to grow, Tony Evans explains that we need to “apply all diligence” as God provides the power for us to succeed.

Faith for Your Journey (2 Peter 1:1-11) - This journey we are on toward heaven requires a measure of faith that Christians have been given, but it should not be confused with simple belief. Faith needs to have something concrete attached to it in order for it to be effective.

Supplements for Your Journey (2 Peter 1:1-11) - Supplements are aids or resources designed to assist us in something where we might be lacking. In preparation for eternity in heaven, God has provided supplements of character to enable us to experience a bit of heaven on earth.

Growth for the Journey (2 Peter 1:1-11) - Spiritual development is necessary, if we are to experience more of God and His divine nature in our preparation for eternity. This development, or growth, is achieved by our longing for God’s Word, which will aid us in our own maturity.

Failure in Your Journey (2 Peter 1:1-11) - Often, when someone becomes a Christian, they fail to grow in their faith. They become comfortable with “elementary teachings” about their faith, but God desires that we adopt an eternal perspective and press on toward our own maturity.

Chosen for Your Journey (2 Peter 1:1-11) - It’s important to know that as we move toward eternity with God, He has chosen us to experience more of Him along the way. So being chosen has to do with more than just our salvation. He chose us to complete a work here on earth.

Completion of the Journey (2 Peter 1:1-11) - Some Christians will spend their earthly lives of no use or benefit to God, and they will enter heaven ashamed. But God’s desire is that we enter into His kingdom abundantly, which requires us to live out our faith on earth with diligence.
