MAGNIFICENT GRACE OF GOD Volume 1

Series Description: Many of us have grown up hearing about the importance of working hard to be good so we can earn our way to heaven. While working hard is certainly a virtue, no such work will ever get us into eternity with God. The truth is that all humanity has fallen short of His glory. Only through His unending grace can we experience His power on earth and forever in His presence.

#1: The Concept of Grace (2 Peter 3:18): The Bible commissions each Christian to grow in grace. The problem for many is a lack of understanding of the term itself. What is grace, and why is it so important not just for salvation but for living life in victory? Tony Evans walks through 2 Peter 3 to give us a better grasp of God’s comprehensive grace.

#2: Saved by Grace (Ephesians 2:1-9): Each of us, if faced with it, would want to be saved from something terrible. But what if we didn’t deserve it? That’s the same question Tony Evans asks, as he explores eternal salvation from the perspective of God, who redeems us from eternal punishment not based on our good works, but on His grace.

#3: Growing by Grace (2 Peter 1:1-11): Each of us loves receiving grace. When someone gives us unmerited favor, it is often both a surprise and a blessing. So, when we contemplate how we should grow in grace, that is multiply the grace we receive, Tony Evans suggests we start by going back to the source of all grace, the Lord Jesus Christ.

#4: Transformed by Grace (Titus 2:11-13): Tony Evans compares our spiritual transformation to the popping of popcorn. Before popping, each kernel has not grown and is not yet fully formed for its ultimate purpose. Such it is with our spiritual growth; learn the secret behind healthy spiritual transformation.

#5: Liberated by Grace (Galatians 5:1-4): Often, Christianity has been unfairly reduced to a way of living filled with a bunch of dos and don'ts. In fact, the Bible teaches that we no longer live under the law but under grace. While God does not give us a license to sin, He has provided through His grace a wealth of freedom in terms of how we can live our lives.

#6: Serving by Grace (1 Peter 4:7-11): God has given His grace to us and our lives have been forever changed as a result. But the story doesn’t end there; He has made us stewards of that grace and Tony Evans explains that loving others and serving their well-being is the natural outpouring of that grace.
